The Next Few Steps

Thank you everyone for being a fan, supporter, advicate. We have had to make a decision at this time to slow down our presence on the internet in favor of solving several personal, family, motivational elements behind 10 Talents Studio. We will always be here. We are available for communication through email which will stay the same. And we will return in future bigger and better than before.

Please take the opportunity to see new videos on our YouTube channels and updates here on the website for new releases and/or art products to help you to become better artists. Our Facebook pages will continue to be updated, but our Patreon page cannot in all good conscience request financial support at this time without compensating supporters with new material monthly. All of your personal information and emails will be protected as per our agreements, not being sold or farmed out. Again, we ask for you to continue to support us by checking back on the website and the Facebook pages as well as YouTube videos for new material going forward.

It is also in our plan to make guest cameos on other podcasts, websites, and convention sites. So, you can't get rid of us! We look forward to helping you in the future.

March Newsletter Update

March is here, and with it comes a new adventure. Well every day is a new adventure if you are fortunate enough to wake up the next morning. That is definitely one thing that I am grateful for. To be able to wake up and see another day. Almost daily, we hear of people dying, whether it's our friends or relatives or someone we have followed for years on television or in the music industry. It makes you think, especially when you start to get older. I ask myself, have I wasted my life, or have I done something meaningful, something that will bless someone or leave a lasting impression in someone's life?

Sometimes I look at all the artwork that I've done that's lying around, and I ask myself what's going to happen to this stuff when I'm gone? That's why I have decided to start giving it away in one way or another. One thing I have decided is that if you join my Patreon site, platform, community, whatever it's called, and if you join the top tier, I will send you a free original drawing, signed of course.

I have been doing a number of pin-ups for my characters and coloring them. Now, I can say I am not a professional colorist, but I do know how to lay down some color. From things like that, I will be making prints and sending them out to my Patreon members.

New Media Kit Released for Comic Sales and Possible Book Signings

Ten Talents Studio has released a media kit and contacted a select few stores regarding selling our books on consignment, setting up in-store book signings, and social media management. Please visit our press page for more information including a link to download our interactive digital media kit.

Retired from a full- time job only to work a full-time job

After my retirement, I'm keeping busy with my new full-time job. You have to remember that there are deadlines, delays, and extra projects when you're making art like comic books. You don’t want to get people excited about your first book, only to have your next book come out two years later, because you now have the freedom to lie in bed all morning.

In my case, I am working on 3 drawing books, 3 comic books, and a children’s book. Not to mention that I'm drawing posters and pin-ups, helping others with their books, AND trying to find the time to advertise it all. Yes, I am working a full-time job. A full-time job with no bosses, no alarm clocks, no morning or evening traffic, no set lunch breaks, and no whining co-workers. I love this full-time job.

May Newsletter Update

May is officially here, and it has been exactly one year since I retired from the corporate world and became an independent artist. So, what have I done in that year? Not nearly as much as I thought I would. Retirement is a weird thing. Even though it's been a year, I still feel like I must get up and go to work or just be somewhere.

What I can say is that I have been keeping up with my YouTube channel, started the second book for Animal Corp, and published my 360-degree hand drawing book. I have also completed all of the texts, or dialogue, or whatever you would call it, for my next book on designing your own characters.

That might not be the title of it, but it's about designing characters, how to do it, everything you need to know in doing it. So, I'm proud of that. That I have completed the words. The hard part is just getting started. And that's something I've always struggled with, getting started.

Brick by Brick by Brick

December is here, along with some major changes for 10 Talents Studio. A while back I saw a video where an artist used an example of building a house with a lot of bricks. To cut to the chase and make this explanation short I'll get right to it. What he basically said is if you have a lot of bricks, and you want to build a house, but you put a couple bricks right here, take another brick put it over there, then take a few more bricks, and put it way over there, he said you will never be able to build that house. What you need to do is take all your bricks and stack them on top of one another.

In short, what he was saying was if you are an artist, and you're doing a little of this, a little of that, and a little of something else, then you're all over the place, and you will never have a stable foundation. When I saw that video, it really hit home because I have been doing so many different things. Basically, you could say I am a jack of all trades and a master of none.
